About

Calvin & Darian
My name is Melisa. I have been a hairdresser for 18 years. After much torture to my joints I have developed Carpal Tunnel. You would think standing around gossiping all day would not be a strenuous job, ha! Standing in fixed positions for hours on end starts to take a toll on your feet, legs, knees, back, neck and wrist and hands.
My mom made me my first magnetic therapy bracelet. I got a lot of benefit from it. I liked it so much; I started researching the internet to see what other types of magnetic therapy jewelry were available. What I found was that a lot of it was kind of “plain” and certain famous magnetic therapy companies actually had very low gauss strength jewelry. I started buying stronger magnetic hematite and combining with beautiful and different styles of glass and other types of beads. Much better quality than some stuff I had ordered over the internet. People tell me my designs are far more beautiful than most magnetic jewelry available today.
All the jewelry is made with high quality beads and findings with a strong 19 or higher strand wire coated with nylon for excellent strength and flexibility.
A year ago our old Golden Retriever “Calvin” started having hip problems. My friends Tracy and Kris said, “Why don’t you put a necklace on Calvin?” I thought that was brilliant, why I hadn’t thought of it before! Well, I went home put a necklace on him and it got all tangled in his fur. That is how the pet collars were born. I researched strength and size of animals and thought I would go similar route that I did with the jewelry…Stronger is better!
What I found with my research on the pet collars was that the magnetic therapy ones (the few that are out there) were very plain and boring too. We offer lots of fun stylish design collars for the magnetic therapy collars.
My family has been very supportive of my businesses. My husband especially, sometimes the bead room/office gets to be a big huge mess and he just clears out his little corner space so he can work and never complains about the beads everywhere. My daughter is a great helper. She loves to make jewelry with me and has a great eye for patterning. So, thanks for your support!
Five years later the business has grown with several locations around the Northwest. I decided to go online so maybe we can help more people out of state and around the world. I’m so amazed daily when I hear how my product has helped someone. I really started out to make them beautiful and bonus; they actually help health issues too! It’s not a bunch of “mumbo jumbo!” Be sure to check out the testimonies of some of the clients who have benefited from Epic Magnetics.
Special Thanks to… Gordon Medley for doing such an amazing job on the website! Todd Cheney & Collette Barbee for taking the jewelry pictures, they turned out beautiful. Tracy for sewing the collars with such quality.

Last but not least, In memory of Calvin who was my inspiration for doing the dog collars in the first place. Shortly before this website was launched, he had to leave us. We all miss him so much. He was the best!
